LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-After the August house passed the cannabis bill which legalise the growing Indian hemp, Members of Parliament (MPs) have finally asked government to allow local chamba with immediate effect.
Minister of Agriculture Lobin Lowe adhere to the members call on Friday, March 11, 2022 in the August house.
Lowe said despite the house passing the cannabis bill till date nothing has been implemented as the international hemp requires a lot.
He said government has realised that the local Chamba has that it takes for medical care.
In his remarks Member of Parliament for Mulanje ,Bale ,Victor Musowa said government should stop confiscating chamba from people instead creating a good platform for the growers.
Musowa said police should return 17 bags of chamba which they confiscated from a business women and make her a role model of local cannabis grower.
He said those that sell Marijuana has a clue of where the market is and they are supposed to be promoted to help government in resolving some problems.
“Chamba is a cure to epilepsy and there is need for government to recognise it ,” said Musowa.
