By Edwin “Mkasu” Mbewe

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The twenty seven (27) participants who took part in CAF D Coaching Course organized by Lilongwe and District Football Committee zone area 49/25 have impressed the instructors as the course has come to an end on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Shire Primary School in area 49.

Davie Mpima, Coaches Association of Malawi General Secretary, who was one of the instructors in a eight (8) days Coaching course described the 27 participants as so cooperative saying they have actively participated in all sessions which showed the passion they have to the field.

Mpima believes that the participants will help in developing football in the country as they have been imparted with Skills and knowledge which will be used both at grassroots and any other levels.

“They will be conducting their training sessions accordingly than before, they have known the components of football, Communication and many other aspects of coaching hence their teams will be transformed in so doing area 49/25 will help in producing good players”, Mpima added.

One of the participants, Bright Buju Kanyama, hailed the two instructors, Davie Mpima and Audrow Makonyola for taking them through the course saying they are now well equipped as they have been imparted with necessary Skills and knowledge which they have been lacking to take their coaching career to the next level.

Kanyama believes they have done well through out the course both on the ground practically and in classes that is in theory.

“Personally I think I have done well,I had some expectations before the course but what has happened on the ground and in class shows the difference from what I expected and I believe I have done well though the final say is with the Instructors and FAM.I once coached in 2006 to 2015 but did not have Coaching license though I managed to produce notable players such as Christopher Kumwembe of Civil.

“This will help me to push for more as I am expecting to go back to the field after I am done with Journalism to concentrate on Coaching career as it is where my passion is.Let me recommend our instructors here, they quickly corrected us whenever we made mistakes “, Kanyama explained while wearing a smiling face.

On Closing day,the 27 participants which were drawn from area 49,25,Salima,Dowa and within the zone had examinations which was both theory and practical.

Football Association of Malawi is expected to release the results in February, 2022.
