Lilongwe-(MaraviPost)-The Senior Resident Magistrate’s Court in Lilongwe has granted bail to Vitumbiko Mumba and Malawi Congress Party spokesperson Jessie Kabwila.
The two appeared before the court facing charges related to statements alleged to be likely to cause public disorder.

The charges stem from remarks they reportedly made during a press conference held in Lilongwe in September this year.
The court heard that the prosecution believes the statements, if left unchecked, had the potential to disturb public peace.
Presiding magistrate Bracious Kondowe outlined strict bail conditions for both accused persons.
Among the conditions is a requirement that each of the accused provide a cash bond of one million kwacha.
The court further ordered that Mumba and Kabwila must be reporting to Area 30 Police Station once every two weeks.
In addition, the two have been instructed to surrender their passports to the authorities as part of the bail terms.
The case is expected to continue on a date to be set by the court as investigations and legal processes proceed.
