Kasungu, March 4, 2016: Police in Kasungu have arrested a man for allegedly being found in possession of medical drugs without a license.
Deputy police public relations officer, Harry Namwaza told Media that police arrested Owen Gama following a tip-off on Tuesday.
“Police conducted a search inside Gama’s compound and found assorted medicinal substances including sulfadoxine,prime-Thamine,Capsules of Amoxyline, Bufen, Ethromycine,Oral Contraceptive and Contraceptive Injections.
“The suspect was arrested immediately and was charged with an offence of being found in possession of medical drugs without a license,” said Namwaza.
The drugs were seized and will be tendered in court as evidence during case proceeding, “said the Police PRO without indicating the total value of the drugs.
Gama, 52, will appear in Court soon to answer the charge leveled against him. He hails from Nyalugwe Village, TA Kadewere in Chiradzulu District.
