The Police in the central district of Kasungu are keeping in custody three men for being found in possession with the illicit substance, Cannabis Sativa (locally known as Chamba).
Kasungu Police Station Public Relations Officer (PRO), Edwin Kaunda confirmed to The Maravi Post on Saturday, August 15, the arrest of Mbiriyakula Maliko 32, Pilirani Chafuwa 25 and Redson Kamangira 28 years of age for possessing the illegal cannabis sativa known in Malawi dialect as ‘Chamba’
Kaunda said the three suspects were arrested at dawn (02:00hrs) on Friday, August 14, 2015, after police got a tip from members of the public that a Toyota Noah Registration Number, NU 8087 which the three men boarded had also carried the said illicit substance on the way to Kasungu district.
