
A 33-YEAR-old man Madalitso Majawa from Redditch is among eight men charged in relation to an Immigration Enforcement investigation into the manufacture and supply of fraudulent ID documents.
Officers from the Criminal and Financial Investigation (CFI) team executed four warrants at 6am on June 28 at addresses in Redditch, Coventry, Nottingham, and south east London.
Madalitso Majawa, of Ombersley Close, Redditch, was charged with conspiracy to supply fraudulent identity documents, alongside four other men.
He appeared at Manchester City Magistrates Court on Friday, June 30, and has been remanded in custody to appear before Manchester Crown Court on July 28.
The four other men charged were Steven Kanaventi, 39, of Mulliner Street, Coventry; Victor Ariyo, 53, of Rye Hill Park, London; and 37-year-old Paul Kanaventi and 32-year-old Febbie Kaitano, both of Forster Street, Nottingham.
Steven Kanaventi, Paul Kanaventi, and Ariyo have also been remanded in custody, while Kaitano has been bailed, to appear at Manchester Crown Court on the same date.
The operation followed three other arrests made on June 20 across London as part of the same investigation. All three are due to appear at Woolwich Crown Court on July 20.
Assistant Director Dave Magrath, from the North West CFI team which is leading the investigation, said: “As these operations show, we will rigorously investigate allegations relating to the abuse of the UK’s immigration laws.”
