Malawian Prophet Bentry Canan arrested for defiling 15-year-old girl

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Malawi Police are keeping in custody Kasungu based Prophet Bentry Canan of New Life Installation Christian Church for allegedly defiling a 15 year-old house girl in the district.

Kasungu police spokesperson Joseph Kachikho said that the 41-year old Canan employed the minor from October 2021 to March 2022 at Kasalika Maplot location.

Kachikho said that the suspect Canaan was sexually abusing the girl from November last year to March this year.

The victim has told the police that during the said time, the suspect allegedly was not paying her anything until as a house maid.

Canaan who hails from Chipala Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Mwase in Kasungu district is expected to appear in court to answer defilement charges.
