LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Central region Beach Soccer Committee is stranded as they are failing to conclude the 2020/2021 season due to funding.

General Secretary Frank Chisambula said that the committee only managed to run Football Association of Malawi (FAM) MK3 million Beach Soccer league in the first round.

Chisambula disclosed that the committee expected to run the second round of the Central Region Beach Soccer from October to November but their coffer has dried up hence keeping the league at halt.

“We summoned our National Committee to fund us,we were told to wait a bit so we are still waiting for the funding to conclude the league. The league has not gone smart as planned because of these challenges.

When we resume, teams should expect to have a tight schedule so that we catch up with time as the calendar and plans we had, have been compromised,” laments Chisambula.

From the first round games, Munali FC lead the log table with fourteen points from six games,Tourism comes second with twelve points.

FC Malawi and Sents Academy are tied up on nine points and occupying positions three and four respectively, Livingstonia is on position five with eight points.

Blue Eagles on position six with six points and anchoring the table is Lake Side who has three points from the same number of games played so far.
