Purple Innovation geared up against GBVs

MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-One of the country’s Mzuzu civil society organisations Purple innovation is geared up to end Gender Based Violence (GBV) among women and girls.

The grouping therefore is empowering them economically and socially on sustainable and communication technologies.

Speaking during the meeting held at Mzuzu hotel, Purple innovation executive director Patricia Mtungila said that there is need for women and girls to know their rights.

Mtungila observed that empowerment will deal away with violation women and girls are subjected to.

She therefore said the grouping is helping them through innovation and entrepreneurship in order to reduce vulnerability to gender based violence.

Chairperson for women in media in the north, Rose Mahorya, agreed with Mtungila on the need for reducing GBV against women and girls as one way of maintaining a better Malawi.

The meeting attracted participants women in media from various media houses and organisation representatives.
