MANCHESTER-(MaraviPost)-Manchester Crown Court has today sentenced Claire McMahon, 35, to 18 years in jail for murder of her boyfriend, John Robinson, 37 in their apartment in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester.

McMahon confessed about the crime in a phone call to her boss soon after she stabbed her boyfriend to death.

She claimed to had used the knife in self defense when the boyfriend attacked her first.

Her boss, who also happened to be her ex-boyfriend revealed that, McMahon sounded distressed in the call and when asked where exactly she stabbed her boyfriend, she confessed to have stabbed her all over his body to death.

The victim suffered three wounds to the back, including a 12cm (4.7in) deep wound which severed an artery and a wound to his throat which cut his windpipe in two.

Police investigations have revealed that the victim suffered abuse from his girlfriend in their five-year relationship and at some point, the victim complained to his sister about the violent behaviour of his girlfriend.
