LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Congress Party’s (MCP) leader, Dr Lazarus McCarthey Chakwera on Tuesday said is good to go for a campaign and victory ahead of the fresh presidential elections in the next 150 days.
Chakwera was addressing supporters of the party in Lilongwe, as part of their celebrations after the Constitutional Court ruled in favour of the petitioners, Chakwera urged people to register in their large numbers and later vote for his party in order for the same to carry the day.
“People have been looking forward to the ruling of the court and now that the ruling has come, it is Malawi that has won, it is the people that have won and it is Africa that has won. Africa is amazing, Malawi is magnificent. Because of who we are and what we have been standing for, the whole world now knows that something good can come out of little country,” said the MCP leader.
The pastor turned politician, who was in the company of the immediate past Head of State, Dr. Joyce Banda and other top MCP notables, said he is ready to form a coalition with any other political party whose will is to delelop and transform Malawi.
On Monday this week, the Constitutional Court in Lilongwe nullified the presidential elections results and declared that fresh polls be held in the coming 150 days, weekends and public holidays inclusive.
