The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Parliamentarian for Lilongwe Msozi South West Constituency,Honorable Vitus Dzoole Mwale has proven to be a rare politician who puts Malawi before party when he applauded the APM administration for not politicizing the Decent and Affordable Housing Subsidy Program.

Speaking before the mass that graced the pilot phase of the project at Kambewe Primary School in the area of Traditional Authority Chadza where 11 families,9 from TA Chadza and 2 from Chimutu have benefited from the program.

“I want to applaud President Mutharika for not politicizing this program,as a member of the opposition party to have the official launch of this program in my area through Msita Housing Development Group,i feel honored,”said Dzoole Mwale.

Mwale went ahead to express his gratitude by saying,”I feel that I have beaten my fellow parliamentarians and I would like all the people who are facilitating the implementation of the project to emulate the spirit that the president has shown mainly those that are in authority”.

It it a common culture in Malawian style of doing politics that those in opposition are deprived from development projects, a thing that the leadership of Peter Mutharika has managed to change the perception.

The President further urged people to refrain from paint the houses in this project blue, the DPP color as this remains a government initiative despite the fact that it is being implemented during the APM administration.

The Descent and Affordable Housing Subsidy Program is one of the things that the DPP promised in its manifesto in the run to 2014 Tripartite elections and what many people thought was a mere political promise, has now turned to be a reality.
