Malawi President Peter Mutharika on Monday asked development partners to resume direct budgetary support to the country arguing his government has met almost all the conditions they set.

Mutharika spoke during a meeting with the British High Commissioner Michael Nevin at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.

The President also expressed concern over the way the donors are handling the direct budgetary support.

Mutharika is of the view that the donors, such as UK, are shifting goal posts since government had fulfilled all the conditions they set for the resumption of aid.
