The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested Northern Region Commissioner of Police, Richard Luhanga, on suspicion of abusing his office.
Luhanga is alleged to have committed the offense around 2022/2023 in Mzuzu, when he diverted paint donated by Press Trust Limited, meant for painting Mzuzu Police Hospital, to his estate at Bolero in Rumphi district.
According to ACB Head of Investigations, Christopher Kaminjolo, Luhanga has been arrested and not just summoned, as he is reasonably suspected of having committed the offense of Abuse of office contrary to section 25 B (1) as read together with Section 25 b (4) and 34 of the Corrupt Practices Act.
