LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The National Youth Network on Climate Change (NYNCC) in connection with the Jesuits Center for Ecology and Development (JCED) and Climate Justice Forum (CJF) past week organised a workshop enlightening the public on the linkage between sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) and Climate change.

Speaking on the event Evans Davie Njewa Chief environmental officer said that at the rate which the population is growing the climate will be the victim, “If there is no planning or force birth control in the country we will end up with no land for nature by the year 2050”.
The evidence base on the linkages between gender and climate change is growing, because there remain considerable gaps in sex-dis aggregated data and gender analyses to inform decision making, building the evidence base is a key focus of activities under the UNFCCC’s Gender Action Plan (UNFCCC, 2019b).
Dominic Nyasulu program manager of NYNCC says, “We are focusing on adaptatiom of the situation at hand not the problem that’s why in this workshop we are pleading with government to consider us”.
However, Malawi government with other nations are advancing in building resilience to the negative impacts of climate change in connection with SRHR.
