MZUZU-(MaraviPost)-The governing Democratic Progress Party (DPP)’s regional governor for the north, Christopher Mzomera Ngwira says the party has been stopping president Peter Mutharika to come to the north several times due to violence which has been happening in this part of Malawi.

Whille blaming UTM for fueling all the violence, Mzomera warned that he knows the names of people who organise this and that he is ready for a revenge.

He however asked all DPP supporter who are still in hiding for fear of the violence to come out and fight for their party during this campaign period.

Mzomera spoke this during the DPP/UDF parade aimed at kickstarting the campaign period in the north.

“We stopped the president not to come to the north for safety reasons, knowing that when the president goes back, our followers would be attacked so we didnt want to risk the lives of our people,”said Mzomera.

President Mutharika lastly visited Mzuzu in April 2019 during the last campaign period.

Mzomera replaced Kenneth Sanga as DPP regional governor for the north two months ago.
