LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Salima -Lilongwe water which is yet to commenced after government through the ministry of finance negotiate with Khato Civils on the cost from US$500milion to US$315 million.

This was revealed on Thursday, January 20, 2022 during the Parliamentary committee on Natural resources with Khato Civils and officials from the ministry of finance.

Chairperson for the committee, Welan Chilenga said the committee is happy to hear for the progress as the project will help to cub water problems on the capital city.

Chilenga said the committee will not entertain other selfish suggest of stopping the project from other people who do not feels right for the project.

Chilenga said parliament is overwhelmed to see the two parties coming up together with one amount for the commencement of the project.

He said the committee recommends Khato Civils for identifying the financier for the commencement of the work.

Salima -Lilongwe water project started in 2016 but nothing has been done yet as the two parties was waiting for concrete agreement.
