BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Mighty Be Forward Wanderers chairperson Symon Sikwese has hit at the club’s former midfielder Joseph Kamwendo and his predecessor Gift Mkandawire over their sentiments regarding the former’s status.
This follows Kamwendo’s claims that the club has not paid him for the past three months for his role as technical assistant and the move by Mkandawire to back his claims, saying he is entitled to salary.
According to The Nation Newspaper, that has not gone down well with Sikwese who has said Kamwendo has no place at Wanderers unless his behaviour changes.
“We have nothing to do with Kamwendo unless he improves on his attitude and behaviour.
“I called him to discuss the issue of his status and, therefore, he had no reasons to blow the issue in the press,” he said as quoted by in the paper.
Meanwhile, the Japanese used vehicles dealer Be Forward has made a decision to withdraw its sponsorship to the team from next year.
Be Forward sponsor Mighty Wanderers to the tune of K150 million per year but they recently cut the sponsorship by 50 percent due to the effects of covid-19 which has crippled businesses worldwide.
Mike Butawo, a local representative for Be Forward, confirmed the company’s withdraw of sponsorship.
“The position of Be Forward Limited is that from next year they will stop sponsoring the club to concentrate in recovery having been hit hard by the effects of Covid-19 pandemic to their business,” said Butao.
