FND pens Parley on questionable David Bisnowaty’s appointment as Israeli Embassy Charge d’Affaires

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The Forum for National Development (FND) has written the Public Appointments Committee of Parliament registering its concerns regarding the appointment of David Bisnowaty as the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi to the State of Israel.

“It is our contention that this appointment was made without proper adherence to the laws of Malawi. Notably, there was no apparent involvement of Parliament, specifically the Public Appointments Committee (PAC), in the confirmation process of Bisnowaty,” reads the letter in part.

FND’s coordinator, Fryson Chodzi argues with referencing to Article 190 of the Malawi Constitution, which governs the appointment of diplomatic personnel, it is evident that the appointment of Bisnowaty lacks legal validity.

“The article stipulates that individuals holding positions such as Charge d’Affaires must undergo confirmation by the Pac, which reserves the right to assess their competency and financial probity,” it further says.

Chodzi demands that Bisnowaty should undergo the due process as mandated by the law before continuing his representation of Malawians in Israeli.

Chairperson for the committee, Joyce Chitsulo has confirmed receiving the letter, saying they will look into it and agree on the way forward as per the constitution and Parliamentary procedures.

But Foreign Affairs Minister Nancy Tembo says Bisnowaty being Charge d’Affaire does not require togo through that process; arguing the process will be followed when Malawi appoints ambassador.

“He is a Malawian of Jewish origin, he has been an MP before and he is just helping us for free, using his resources. We are not paying him,” Tembo says.

Is Former Lilongwe City Center Lawmaker Bisnowaty Judas Iscariot?

Is Former Lilongwe City Center Lawmaker Bisnowaty Judas Iscariot

By John Saukira

For the starters Judas Iscariot was not an ordinary person but someone with ministerial position in the 12 men cabinet of Jesus Christ.

Every story needs a villain and Judas Iscariot fills this role in the gospels. He is the apostle who betrayed Jesus and helps the Jerusalem authorities arrest him.

Judas may have enjoyed a privileged position among Jesus’s apostles — John describes him as the band’s treasurer and he is often present at important times.

Judas was a Minister of Finance someone very senior but a bad man who at last betrayed his own manager.

Despite Jesus honouring Judas with such position , he was never contended. Instead he turned as betrayer of trust a trickster and and indeed a sellout.

This is exactly what happened with David Bisnowaty. Of course they are all Jews. And both coming from Israel. May be that is why they are behaving the same.

People of Lilongwe City Centre gave him 34,000 votes in 2014 after being cheated that he will turn Lilongwe City Centre as Israel capital Tel Avivi.

He cheated the people that he will take Water from Lake Malawi into the constituency with help of his well-wishers from Israel.

Currently nothing has happened in the constituency let alone only few poorly constructed tarmac road from Chenicheni Nchiti to Senti.

Now the same person has gone to Lilongwe City North to look for the same votes. After falling out with constituents he joined Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) with reasons to access easily drug and medicine contracts from government, the move failed.

Bisnowaty is a big joke of our century. He is a man of delusion and a sellout like Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus despite good work that he did.

Bisnowaty has betrayed people of Lilongwe City Centre.  Its time people should stop trusting this person.

Now is vying for Lilongwe city north constituency as an independent candidate for May 21 polls.

DPP settles for rapper Tay Grin as candidate against MP Bisnowaty in Lilongwe City Central; Road to 2019

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Secretary General Gresder Jeffrey wa Jeffery on Sunday unveiled rapper Limbani Kalilani (known as Tay Grin) as parliamentary candidate for the party in Lilongwe City Centre constituency, whose incumbent law maker is David Bisnowaty.
And Bisnowaty, who was elected as an independent Member of Parliament (MP) four years ago but joined DPP, didn’t know of this development as he is outside the country.
The development has sent tongues wagging on what will happen to the incumbent parliamentarian Bisnowaty.
Speaking during a political rally at Mgona Community Ground in Lilongwe, Wa Jeffrey said DPP will not impose any candidate on the people.
“We will not impose any candidate because DPP is a democratic party but we have only received the name of Limbani Kalilani as an aspiring member,” she said.
DPP’s Organising Secretary Chimwemwe Chipungu told the rally also that constituents chose wrongly in 2014 hence no meaningful development.
Chipungu who also failed during the 2014 elections as DPP Parliamentary candidate denounced Bisnowaty saying a new person needs to represent the party.
When contacted Maravi Post on Sunday evening, Bisnowaty expressed surprise at the development, saying he was with his Jewish people who in the month of September celebrate Yom Kippur and Sukott; also known as the Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day of the year in Judaism.
The MP said, central themes for these celebrations are atonement and repentance and the Jewish people traditionally observe this holy day with an approximate 25-hour period of fasting and intensive prayer, often spending most of the day in synagogue services.
“These are very important holidays hence I am spending time with family and friends outside Malawi,” Bisnowaty said. “If the DPP had a rally in Mgona in my constituency today and that’s fine.
“[But] I have done a lot of development projects in that area and the largest was a concrete bridge worth over MK100 million.”
He also cited tarmac roads from Chenicheni Nchiti to Senti in Area 18 as one of the projects he initiated.
Recently, people in the Lilongwe City Centre constituency accused Bisnowaty of relocating to Blantyre leaving the people who voted him alone but Bisnowaty trashed down the accusation as untrue.
On his part, Tay Grin whose mother Jean Kalirani is Minister of Gender in President Peter Mutharika’s Cabinet, said he has launched his campaign to be the MP in the area.
Main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has picked Alfred Jiya – son of the soil – as their parliamentary candidate in the constituency.
MP Bisnowaty is yet to announce his next political path head of 2019 general elections.
