LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Three men who work with Pallet Kings Company are in Police custody in Nkhata Bay District for being found in possession of 16 bags of Chamba being conveyed to Blantyre.

They are identified as Anderson Chikungu, 43, working as a driver of Chikungu Village, Traditional Authority Chapananga in Chikhwawa, Mwayi Nahawa, 18, working as a labourer of Namakoka Village in Traditional Authority Mwambo in Zomba and Samson Mwawe, 45 , working as a Watchman of Mtepuka Village Traditional Authority (T.A) Mankhambira in Nkhata Bay District.

They have been charged with being found in possession of Cannabis Sativa and they will appear in court soon.

Their arrest follows a Police tip recieved on January 30, 2022 from well- wishers about a lorry registration number MJ 8704 Ashok Leyland which was to carry some plunks from Vizara Estate loading some suspicious sealed bags.

They tactically loaded 16 bags of Sativa and covered them with plunks to conceal.

Police therefore, commended members of the Community for the support towards ending crime through provision of information and encouraged people in the district to keep on providing important information which may help in dealing with criminals.
