Premier mobile network service provider TNM is this week set to present the grand cash prize of K5 million to the winner of its Ufulu@50 Promotion.

The winner, 22-years old Joyce Mpandeni from Makhanga, Nsanje is a small-scale business woman who sells fritters (mandasi). She emerged the winner during the final draw on August 28, 2014.

Head of Marketing Sobhuza Ngwenya said all set for TNM to present the grand cash prize.

“We are ready to present the cash prize, which will be transferred to Mpandeni through our mobile money service, Mpamba. We thank Mpandeni and all customers for choosing to celebrate Malawi’s 50 years of Independence through the TNM network,” he said.

For her part, Mpandeni said she looks forward to receiving her prize, which she plans to invest towards building a family home.

“It’s a dream come true. When I was contacted by TNM about the prize, I thought it was just a dream, but now that they have confirmed I’m the winner, I’m excited beyond description. I can’t wait,” she said.

Mpandeni thanked TNM for bringing the Ufulu@50 Promotion, saying it offered ordinary Malawians an opportunity to celebrate the country’s 50TH Independence Anniversary in style.

“The fact that ordinary people from the village like me can win K5 million testifies that this indeed was a celebration for all. Using this money, I will build a house and invest into a new business,” she said.

Apart from the grand cash prize of K5 million, 50 customers each won K2 million to be invested in a community development project of their choice. Another 50 customers each won K100,000 worth of Mpamba money.
