Interestly, Dr Michael Usi comes from Mulanje, infact his constituency and that Kaliati share boundaries at Chinakanaka.
He must have the heart to see her ‘sister’ at the prison but he has chosen to look away.
Nankhumwa went to see her as a leader but more importantly as sister’ from the same district.
Dr Michael Usi is the President of UTM and his own Secretary General has been arrested.
He can’t find time to cheer her up. But he has find time to cancel today’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on condition that his Secretary General has been arrested.
Dr Michael Usi is Second in Command in the executive branch hierarchy.
Usi must have been tipped by the Intel that Kaliati will be arrested.
He chose to keep quite without even telling his executive of the pending arrest while other senior members were at office preparing for NEC meeting.
Let us be honest with each other here.
By cancelling NEC meeting and not having time to see his Secretary General at the police station, those who are saying he is part of the conspiracy may be true.
It is clear that the strategy is to drag the UTM convention up to next year.
Remember he is the leader and UTM laws give him powers to pander on anything that is not his favour.
At the end of the day, UTM will be divided and confused and the beneficiary of that will be Malawi Congress Party (MCP). So simple!

Ask Kaliati why she never attended Usi’s inagulation ceremony? Kaliati hates Usi because she thought she was supposed to replace Chilima. She hates Chakwera too for appointing Usi to the position of VP… Hence the plot to assassinate the President. Kaliati is a witch, remember she was in the midnight 6 when Bingu died, she did not want Joyce Banda to replace Bingu
