Zainabu Mbowani’s assassin jailed 21 years for robbery; Awaits murder sentence

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Blantyre Central Senior Resident Magistrate Court on Thursday, December 16, 2021 sentenced 22 year old Goodson Namadidi to 21 years imprisonment with hard labour after he was found guilty for an offence of armed robbery.

The court heard that Namadidi who is also nicknamed Gude committed the offence on November 30, 2021 near Blantyre International University in Michiru Forest where he Murdered Miss Zainabu Mbowani before going away with a Laptop Computer and a Home Theater.

He was then arrested following investigations by Police following the report of the murder.

After he had admitted in Police that he is indeed the one who had murdered the deceased and that he went away with the said properties, two cases of Murder and Armed Robbery were opened against him.

On December 16, 2021 he appeared before the court where he admitted both charges.

The Court therefore convicted and sentenced him to 21 years Imprisonment with hard labour for the offence of Armed Robbery.

Namadidi has therefore started serving the 21 year long sentence while waiting for Judgement of the murder case.

The murder suspect hails from Suya Village, Traditional Authority (T.A) Machinjiri in Blanytre District.
