Malawi’s boxing body president Pyson Likagwa dates central region committee

LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Three weeks after Malawi Boxing Association (MABA) elected new office bearers in regions, the body’s President Pyson Likagwa over the weekend visited central region committee for empowerment to run the affairs of the sport with maximum professionalism.

The committee was also urged to be active if the sport in the region is to go on to the other level and to start finding ways of resource mobilization by coming up with more activities including fights.

Likagwa was accompanied by Daud Shaibu, the National General Secretary, who asked for cooperation amongst the new office bearers.

He also appealed to the committee to establish more boxing clubs in the region.

Likagwa added that the going will be tough hence the committee need to be strong enough in fund mobilization.

The Chairperson for the new team, Nehru Maya assured the National Executive Committee that the committee is eagered and focused to work.

He then hailed President Likagwa for visiting them saying they have now been empowered to work freely.
