It is alleged that the couple had separated for some time following domestic issues and the day of the incident, the deceased has requested the mother to bring the daughter to his house so that they can bond.

Prior to the tragedy, the mother, identified as Elizabeth, had escaped from the burning vehicle.

She was discovered bleeding profusely from lacerations on her neck as a result of multiple stab wounds allegedly inflicted by the deceased, Kenyan.co.ke reported.

A knife and a partly-burnt five litre jerry can suspected to have contained petrol have been recovered from the scene.

Both the mother and toddler were rushed to the Mama Lucy Hospital for treatment before the two-year-old was transferred to the Kenyatta National Hospital for specialized medical attention.

Meanwhile, the deceased’s body has been taken to the Mama Lucy Hospital Mortuary and police has launched investigations into the incident.
