This has been revealed during the body’s Annual General Meeting held at Bridge View Hotel on March 25, 2023, in the capital Lilongwe.
Austin Biton Ajawa the body’s chairman said the money will be drawn from different sources, namely FAM who have pledged to give the Association a subversion total sum of MK25 million.
Chipiku Stores, the Sponsors of the Premier Division League will pump in MK16.5 million, Nyasa Capital Finance the sponsors of Nyasa Cup are anticipated to give the Association an MK8.3 million package.
Ajawa further said the other cash will be realized from the affiliation fees from the teams anticipated to play in Premier and Division One leagues.
Teams playing in Premier Division are required to pay MK350,000 while Division One teams will pay MK300,000 affiliation fees hence CRFA are anticipating to collect a total sum of MK15.6 million.
He said, the money will be used for running the two leagues, cups and for administration.
During the AGM, CRFA appealed to the teams that they should be paying affiliation fees in full as other teams finish the league without completing payments of the affiliation fee which Ajawa said, it compromises the smooth running of the league.
On this call, the teams advised the body not to tolerate the practice saying, teams should only play unless they pay the fee in full.
The whole house agreed that teams must pay the arrears they have with the Association before paying this year’s fees.
The AGM drew all the 9 district committees who are the affiliates, officials from Premier and Division One leagues, Referees officials and members of the press, and this dwelled much on the three agendas: 2022 Financial Report, Plans for 2023 season and 2022 Activity report.
The 2023 CRFA Football Season will kick off on April 16 ,2023.
