The President of the Republic of Malawi, His Excellency Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 89(1)(e) of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi has with immediate effect made the following diplomatic appointments:
Mr. Kena Mphonda, as High Commissioner to the United Kingdom following the withdrawal of Dr. Hetherwick Ntaba who withdrew after he had received a stamp of approval from Public Appointment Committee (PAC) of Malawi Parliament.
Mr. Michael Kamphambe-Nkhoma, as Ambassador to Germany replacing Voice Mhone.
Mrs. Anne Kumwenda, as Ambassador to Zimbabwe replaces the failed of Diplomat Thoko Banda who had called Mugabe ‘idiot’ in interview. The un-diplomatic comments were discovered after his nomination and The President was then forced to withdraw his name.
Mr. Wilfred Ali, has been appointed as Ambassador to Kuwait and retired Chief Justice Dr. Isaac Munlo, as High Commissioner to India
Mrs. Caroline C.S. Bwanali Mussa, as Ambassador to Egypt taking the place of Yunus Mussa who was accused of embellishing his credentials with a relative’s.
