Rebirth of Manyuchi Condoms Hope for Malawi’s control of STDIs and Unplanned Pregnancy

Banja La Mstogolo (BLM) on Saturday disclose during official launch ceremony that rebirth of Manyuchi condoms remains hope of Malawians in particular the health livelihoods since the brand has been intensified to the best, in as far us family planning methods are concerned.

 

Country Director for Banja La Mstogolo Nick Mathews reveals that sexually Transmitted Disease Infections (STDIs), unplanned pregnancy, cervical cancers can be prevented by using good family planning method in particular condoms. “The slight changes in features of Manyuchi condomsdoes not mean the previous brand had problems to our customers. The civilization and modernization madeBLM to decide bring some change like the colour, pocket which is in pillow-like pack and scent to meet the general interest of customers”, said Mathews.

Further, Mathews lament that Manyuchi condoms are easy to purchase at convenience stores, pharmacies and even groceries and have a 98% success rate when it comes from preventing unwanted and unexpected pregnancies.

Minister for Health and Chair-Parliamentary Committee Julian Lunguzi, urges people (Christians and Muslims) to use condoms citing that condoms have less or technically no side effects.Compared to birth control pills or spermicidal solutions or sprays.“Some Christians deny using condom due to some teachings putting their lives at edge of contracting the virus that causes HIV/Aids hence resulting more deaths”, said Lunguzi.

Director of Health Services responsible for Operations for BLM Mary Mitochi, expressed satisfaction with the way people welcome the rebrand Manyuchi condoms. BLM promise to continue its contributions to condo Mize Malawi campaign which is being encouraged by Population Service International (PSI), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and government through ministry of health and other stakeholders.

The launching of Manyuchi condoms was well dressed and coloured like a bride with several activities. Both celebrity in Poet Hadson Chamasowa and musician award winning artists Skeffa Chimoto, showcase their skills to entertain the audience.
