Euro 2024 Tournament

The hugely popular Euro 2024 football tournament is approaching fast. If you’re going to watch any of it, it’s time to get planning.

Watching with your friends and family is the best way to have fun. But whether you do this at home, or out and about is up to you. However, whichever option you choose, you do need to be prepared.

There are various things you need to factor in when planning your Euro 2024 event, especially if you’re planning to be a host. Follow these steps to ensure a seamless, fun time is had by all.

Organise a gathering

One of the best ways to enjoy Euro 2024 is to have people over. Now, if you’re planning on hosting at home, you will need to prepare for a lot of people. First, you will need to consider the seating arrangements. Everyone will need a clear view of the TV so make sure all the chairs can get a good line of site. If you’ve not got enough chairs for the number of guests you expect, get more even if you borrow from neighbours.

For those of you who may think you won’t have enough space, consider whether you want the gathering and watch party inside or outside. Outside will give you more space, but it may be harder to see the TV if you don’t shade it in some way. Of course, you’ll also have to consider the weather which could change. If that occurs, you’re still going to need indoor seating and viewing access.

Finally, food and drink is important. You can opt for a bring-your-own style of drinking coupled with a potluck where everyone brings a dish. This way you don’t have to fork out for everything and can save some money and time along the way. If you’re going to purchase food and drink yourself though, do so in advance. Don’t leave it until the last minute as you may find some of the items you want become unavailable. Make sure you’re fully stocked with ice. Never underestimate how much ice your visitors will use, especially if they’re enjoying the games.

Plan the days your team is playing

First up is the planning of the games. If you’ve got a particular team you and your guests follow, then checking their game schedule is essential. Make sure you know exactly which days and times your team is up so that you can invite your guests over on the right day. It’s also a good idea to plan these out so that you can take time off if you need to. And, you should check which channels the games are showing on so that you can be fully prepared to get all the coverage. Some games are in the morning, others in the evening, so make sure you’re not going to miss out.

Pick combination days

If you want to make the most of your Euros watching, then it can be a good idea to pick combination days to invite friends over or to settle in for the long haul. Even if you don’t support some of the teams, it’s worth checking out the other football fixtures. There are many great teams and match-ups in Euro 2024, so you can make a day of it, watching several matches throughout the day, not just your own team. This can really make the day more special and exciting.

Choose where to place your bets

Part of the fun when watching Euro 2024 is seeing who will win. With so many outcomes possible, it’s a great time to place a bet or two on the different matches. If this is something you’re interested in, take the time to check out which are the best gambling sites.

You should be checking to see which gambling sites have the best and most competitive odds available. The site should also have a wide range of betting markets for the Euros. Make sure you’re not limited to simple bets but have access to totals, over/under, futures, player props, game props, first to score, exact score and so on. You can even encourage your friends to join you.

Create a Euro 2024 sweepstake

As an alternative for betting, and a way to get everyone involved be it at home or at work, create a sweepstake. All you need to do is print out the names of all the teams and randomly allocate (or have each person draw themselves) a team to each person. If you want to raise money for a cause, get everyone to pay a tiny fee for the privilege. Doing it well means you can donate money or simply have a larger pot for the prize to the eventual winner.

It can be a lot of fun for everyone, and give you and your friends other teams to root for in games where your team is not playing. It’ll also give you more interest in other players and outcomes too which only serves to make the experience more entertaining.

Going out to watch the Euros

If hosting a gathering is too much work for you, or you simply prefer the ambience of a pub or bar, then going out could be the way forward. However, it’s not always that simple. Many bars and pubs will be showing the games so make sure you check in your area where the games will be shown. Once you’ve found a pub, take the time to check out the TVs including the size, placement and sound quality. Scout out the best viewing points in the bar.

On the day of the game, you many need to consider arriving early. Don’t forget, many people will have the exact same idea. You don’t want to get stuck standing at the back of the pub, unable to properly see the game or get a drink. If the pub or bar allows, you should book your table well in advance to reduce stress and guarantee yourself a prime viewing position.
