MACHINGA (MaraviPost)–The Democratic Progressive Party wings from Domasi and Machinga TTC have donated to Machinga heath Center assorted medial items at an event which brought together the two colleges on 27th June 2015.
The youths with the assistance from Safe motherhood managed to fulfill their dreams of helping this nation towards a common course of improving the heath well-being of Malawians.
In an interview with MaraviPost, the hospital in charge, Mr. Robert Phiri thanked the two colleges for the support attributing that it will help a lot with so much different in the quest to improve to their health facility.
“I am very thankful for this, it has come at the right time, we never expected that at a time that a lot of hospitals are facing challenges, our facility would be bailed out from some of the challenges that it faces, the beddings that we have received will help to ease the problems we had with our patients.” He said.
Phiri added that some of the items will help in infection prevention as well as improving males reproductive health, reduce the problems to do with lack of medical items among other.
“I want to extend my appreciation to the leadership of DPP for allowing the youths to participate in developing this nation and I want to encourage them that this should not be the end but the beginning of this gesture so that a lot of health facilities across the country are reached. It is not the duty of the government to help the heath service but this initiative by the DPP wings from the two colleges can help in provision of better heath services in the country’s heath facilities.”
After presenting the items to the health center, safe motherhood representative who was available at the venue, Mr. Misozi Jimusole expressed satisfaction that in line with their core duty, they are impressed that people out there are willing to partner with them to improve the health system of Malawi. He further acknowledged the support which their body is getting from World Vision International to improve the health service delivery of Malawians.
Making his speech on behalf of the two wings, the President for Domasi DPP , Mr. Frank Sumati made it clear that as a grouping, they have done something which will have an impact on Malawians.
“We are very happy to present this donation to Mangochi Heath Center. As the youths of this nation eye marked as the future leaders, it is our responsibility to take part towards developing this nation responsibility. Time is over for politicians to involve the youth in bad politicking style. As the State president puts it on several occasions, we need to unite as Malawians and make our contribution to improve the welfare of fellow Malawians.”
Before making the donations, the two wings carried out a cleaning exercise at the hospital which included slashing around the clinic which was surrounded by unwanted vegetation, sweeping around the hospital premises, moping, cleaning the window panes and throwing away and burning unwanted litters around the place among other things.
The event was graced by the Eastern region Director for the youth, Mr. .Stevin Bamusi, the district governor for Machinga, Mr. Joman Kandodo, traditional leaders for area among others.
