BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has extended an apology to former President Bakili Muluzi following comments made by party member Sameer Suleman.
The remarks were made in response to statements by Atupele Muluzi, who questioned Peter Mutharika’s age and suitability to run for president again.
DPP’s Vice President for the Southern Region, Joseph Mwanamvekha, acknowledged that Suleman’s comments were unnecessary and apologized to Bakili Muluzi.
Mwanamvekha also urged Atupele Muluzi to withdraw his remarks, expressing the DPP’s disappointment with his statements.
In a related development, Sameer Suleman has apologized and withdrawn his comments.
However, he insists that Atupele Muluzi should also apologize for his initial remarks.
