LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera has assured residents of Lilongwe Kamphuno Constituency that his administration will continue delivering development projects.
He emphasized that road construction and the building of school blocks will remain at the center of his government’s priorities.
The announcement was made on Wednesday at Chigwirizano Trading Center in Traditional Authority Malili during one of his campaign trail stops.
Chakwera underlined the government’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure and education in order to uplift livelihoods in Kamphuno and beyond.
“Through my administration, we want to expand road infrastructure and school blocks to improve livelihoods and education,” he said.
The President noted that road networks are vital for connecting communities to schools, hospitals, and markets.
He explained that this is why road development stands as a key national priority for his government.
Chakwera further highlighted that expanding educational facilities is equally critical for improving learning outcomes.
He argued that investment in classroom infrastructure will create opportunities for children across Kamphuno and other rural constituencies.
Aspiring Member of Parliament for Kamphuno Constituency, Rubyna De Silva, praised the President for what she described as visible progress in the area.
“The construction of police houses, roads, and classroom blocks shows tangible improvements in our communities,” she said.
De Silva encouraged residents to vote for Chakwera in order to sustain the momentum of development projects underway.
The President’s visit formed part of his wider campaign engagements aimed at bringing government initiatives closer to the people.
He also sought to reinforce his administration’s focus on infrastructure and education as twin pillars of national development.
Chakwera’s promises come amid ongoing efforts to promote equitable growth in Lilongwe and across Malawi.
He stressed that rural areas in particular must not be left behind in access to basic infrastructure and educational facilities.
Community members attending the rally expressed optimism that the planned projects would improve accessibility.
They also voiced hope that enhanced educational facilities would strengthen learning environments and stimulate socio-economic growth.
The administration has rolled out similar infrastructure and education initiatives in other constituencies.
This reflects a broader national strategy to address infrastructure deficits while boosting human capital development.
Chakwera reiterated his commitment to improving public service delivery nationwide.
He assured the crowd that constituencies like Kamphuno would continue to benefit from his government’s interventions.
In conclusion, President Chakwera’s campaign pledge in Kamphuno reflects both the promise and the challenge of governance.
On the one hand, roads and school blocks symbolize tangible progress that communities can directly experience.
On the other, Malawians will measure these commitments not by words on the campaign trail but by whether bulldozers roll onto sites, classrooms open their doors, and rural livelihoods are transformed.
For voters in Kamphuno and beyond, the test will be whether promises of development translate into durable change or remain political rhetoric designed to capture electoral support.
