Malawi police disperse HRDC protestors allowing DPP supporters to march in Blantyre

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)-Malawi Police on Wednesday was caught violating their code of conduct of work of providing security to demonstrators when any matter of national course occurs.

The law enforcers reportedly dispersed Human Rights defenders coalition (HRDC) demonstrators who had the legal permission to march in Blantyre.

The incident turned into violence until HRDC member Billy Mayaya and others protesters were severely attacked.

The police thereafter allowed Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) supporters to March peacefully despite not having Permission to do so.

Eventually, DPP supporters took to the street marching from Comesa Hall heading towards Blantyre CBD after Police dispersed HRDC demonstrators.

DPP spokesperson Nicholas Dausi asked for more time on the matter.
