Having a dream about being bitten by a snake may be a warning about a particular person, behavior or event that is potentially damaging the dreamer’s life, or it may represent fear about something.

There is also the Freudian interpretation of the snake as a phallic symbol representing sex or temptation.

The idea of a snake bite representing sexual frustration or temptation is especially strong if the person dreams the snake is in his bed.

There is also a direct link between snakes and temptation for followers of Judaism and Christianity due to the story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.

Many Asian and Native American cultures see snakes as representing wisdom, so for these people, these dreams are often interpreted as meaning renewal due to the snake being able to shed its skin.

Most interpretations relate to the snake as representing a hidden fear or danger in the person’s life.

The reason most people are so frightened of snakes relates to snakes’ ability to hide and suddenly strike without warning, which lends a lot of credibility to this particular interpretation.

Some people believe that a snake also represents the subconscious and is a sign that it is attempting to convey an important message.
