LONDON-(MaraviPost)-Former Liverpool forward and Spanish TV pundit has breathed his last after battling with skin cancer since 2018.
His family confirmed this using his social media account on Tuesday of April 28, 2020.
Before his demise, Michael Robinson played for Manchester City from 1979 to 1980 before he joined Brighton where he made 113 appearances and was later signed by Liverpool in year 1983 where he just played in the FA Cup final.
He challenged Ian Rush and Kenny Dalglish for a place in the Reds first-team, playing enough games to earn a title medal for the 1983/84 campaign and came on as a substitute for Dalglish in extra-time in 1984 European Cup final against Roma.
In January 1987, Robinson moved to Spanish side Osasuna along with his former Liverpool teammate Sammy Lee.
A report by Mirror News revealed that Robinson settled in Spain after retiring in 1989 and he was awarded citizenship before he turned his passion for sport into a second career as a presenter and commentator.
After learning language, he became a successful commentator and media pundit on La Liga matches and Spanish national team games on several broadcasting stations.
In an interview with Sky Sports, his former teammate Graeme Souness has described Robinson as a charming man who has left behind great stories.
Robinson has left behind wife, Christine, and two children, Liam and Aimee.
