Prophet Bushiri in court; Followers urged to be calm

PRETORIA-(MaraviPost)-The controversial leader of the The Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG) Church, Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Prophetess Mary Bushiri are set to appear before the Pretoria High Court today, July 27, 2020.

The self-proclaimed prophets are facing charges of contravention of the Prevention of the Organised Crime Act, money laundering and fraud.

Both of then are appealing to the ECG partners and followers to be calm and put them in their prayers. “We are also in our prayers, please put us in our prayers,” the statement reads.

Due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, ECG spokesperson Ephraim Nyondo, said that the church is advising everyone who will be supporting Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Prophetess Mary Bushiri today to adhere and observe the health regulations set by the government.

Nyondo added that they appreciate the people who have been sending messages of solidarity. The messages have been sending through #IstandWithMajor1.

Some of the ECG members said that this is a spiritual attack to their “Daddy”.
