Mwenifumbo secures UTM candidature for Karonga central by-election

KARONGA-(MaraviPost)-UTM on Saturday, afternoon September 12, 2020 endorsed parliamentarian Frank Tumpale Mwenifumbo as it’s candidate in the November 10th parliamentary by-election in Karonga Central Constituency.

Mwenifumbo’s main challenger Mary Nthakomwa pulled out of the race earlier today on claims that the party was sidilining her, an allegation Northren Regional Governor Dr. Moses Mlenga has refuted.

He has therefore pledged to work with Nthakomwa.

Mwenifumbo was once served the same constituency which was later taken by the late Mwaluwanda who succumbed to Covid-19 a few months ago.

Before UTM, Mwenifumbo was Alliance For Democracy (AFORD) lawmaker when he also stand as runningmate to United Democratic Front (UDF) president Atupele Muluzi during the nullified 2019 presidential elections.
