Angie Kaliati dumps ruling DPP, follows wife in Tonse Alliance ahead of Malawi fresh Presidential election

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost)—Angie Kaliati, who is a husband to UTM Secretary General Patricia Kaliati, has joined the Tonse Alliance, a grouping of different parties in the country headed by the main opposition Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Lazarus Chakwera in the forthcoming fresh presidential election.

Speaking at Njamba Freedom Park today, Kaliati thanked her husband for joining the alliance.

“I want to thank you Mr. Kaliati for joining the Tonse Alliance. You are welcome my darling. It takes a gentleman to join a wife in the alliance of Malawi Congress Party and UTM which is geared to transform the country. I love you baba,” said Kaliati.

Turning to Mutharika, Kaliati challenged the president to show himself up to the people.

She said Malawians who are Mutharika’s bosses are conducting interviews and they want Mutharika to come and present his CV (Curriculum Vitae) to them.

Earlier Timothy Mtambo urged the youth to go out and vote for Chakwera on 23 June.
