The government has reiterated its commitment to finish all construction projects that stalled from the previous regimes.
Principal Secretary responsible for monitoring, evaluation and social services in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Anjimile Mtila, made the remarks after a visit to some projects that stalled since 2013.
Mtila observed that projects like Machinga Community College, Domasi Rural Hospital and Likwenu Community Based Care Centre among others have surpassed a 50 percent completion rate.

“Government has invested much in these projects though they stalled. President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has made it clear that no matter which government ignited a project, but if it serves the populous his administration will ensure that the project is completed,” said Mtila.
In his remarks, the Chairperson for the National Planning Commission, Professor Richard Mkandawire, said it is the mandate of the NPC to see to it that there is a continuation of development projects in government saying the money spent on such projects should serve the community.
