LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-Renowned Malawian dancehall artist Fatsani Che Kalonda, better known by his stage name Blakjak, has made a highly anticipated comeback after four years away from the music scene.

The Blantyre-based artist announced his return with the release of a new single titled “Ena Akugona”, marking a fresh chapter in his celebrated career.

Speaking to the Malawi News Agency on Tuesday, Blakjak explained that the track carries a strong social message, encouraging people to recognize and appreciate the hard work of others rather than undermining their efforts.

He stressed that the song’s message is both simple and powerful, urging Malawians to embrace a culture of respect and encouragement in their everyday lives.

“I am back, and people should expect good quality music,” Blakjak said, while expressing gratitude to his loyal fans for warmly welcoming him after his long break from releasing music.

The artist also disclosed that his return will not stop at one single, as he is preparing to release more music before the end of 2025.

Among his upcoming projects are four major collaborations with fellow musicians under the Inhouse Media stable, a move that signals his renewed commitment to contributing to Malawi’s vibrant music industry.

Blakjak’s comeback single “Ena Akugona” is already available on his YouTube channel and will soon be distributed to local radio stations, making it accessible to a wider audience across the country.

Fans have already begun to celebrate his return, with long-time supporter Stewart Chipala praising both the artist’s resilience and the inspiration behind his latest track.

“Blakjak has always been one of my favourite local rappers because of the messages in his songs,” Chipala said. “His return is timely, and I believe ‘Ena Akugona’ will inspire many young people to work hard and respect others’ hustle.”

Blakjak rose to prominence with hits such as “Ndapita” and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Malawi’s urban music movement, blending hard-hitting lyrics with socially conscious messages that resonate with young audiences.

Concluding Analysis

Blakjak’s return to the music scene represents more than just a comeback; it reflects the resilience of Malawi’s creative industry and the enduring impact of artists who balance entertainment with meaningful social commentary.

His message in “Ena Akugona” speaks directly to the challenges facing Malawi’s youth, where competition and criticism often overshadow collective growth.

By combining fresh music with positive values, Blakjak has an opportunity not only to reclaim his place in Malawi’s urban music but also to inspire a new generation of fans.

His success will depend on consistency and the ability to adapt to a music landscape that has evolved during his absence, but his comeback shows strong promise for both his career and the industry at large.
