President Chakwera made the remarks on Thursday when he held an audience with Rotary Club International, President Dr. Gordon Mclnally, at Kamuzu Palace.

In his remarks, Chakwera hailed the club for not giving up on Malawi despite facing a myriad of challenges.

“The work that the Rotary Club is doing is very commendable. We know that the challenges that we are going through are so huge, sometimes we are overwhelmed,” emphasized the Malawi leader.

“But instead of the Rotary Club giving up and saying that this is too much, you still come in to assist.”

President Chakwera also praised the Rotary Club for quickly stepping in with support when Malawi was hit by cases of Polio.

Speaking earlier, Rotary Club International President Dr. Gordon Mclnally, hailed President Chakwera for taking time out of his busy schedule to meet him and his delegation.

Mclnally expressed satisfaction with the Rotary Club in Malawi for it’s zeal in implementing various projects that are serving the people of Malawi better.

He revealed that Rotary Club International through the Rotary Foundation will soon release funds to Malawi, to be channeled to the health sector.

The foundation was created in 1917 by Rotary International’s sixth president, Arch C. Klumph, as an endowment fund for Rotary to do good in the world.
