LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-President Lazarus Chakwera has reconstituted his Private Sector Council to align with vision 2030 and Malawi’s agenda 2063.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, June 12, 2025 signed by Presidential Press Secretary Anthony Kasunda, the council has 20 membership from key private sector including finance, technology, agriculture, transport, entrepreneuriaship and among others.
The statement reads in part, “The Presidential Private Sector Council is a body established by the President to adviseand collaborate with him on innovative ways and policies to create an enabling environment for investment, trade and private sector growth.
“Its existence aligns with His Excellency’s ATM Strategy of targeting private and public sector investments in thesectors of Agriculture, Tourism, Mining and Manufacturing as engines for achieving
wealth creation, job creation and food security in pursuit of the Malawi 2063 Vision ofturning Malawi into an inclusively wealthy, self-reliant, industrialised middle-income economy by 2030″.
Kasunda adds, “The Council will serve as the highest platform for public-private dialogue and will meet
the President directly and regularly over the course of its two-year tenure”.
The reconstituted Presidential Private Sector Council and the new membership is as follows:
