In every Presidential contest there is unfortunately only one winner. The just concluded elections in Russia gave President Vladimir Putin the nod to continue his leadership of that great nation. This victory is a major achievement not only for the people of Russia, but also for the whole world.
We don’t need a soothsayer or corporate media malicious propaganda and wishful thinkers to tell us that President Putin’s victory is a decision made by the people and it is commendable and worthy of emulation. It is the obvious that Putin’s electoral victory shows the Russian people’s unflinching love for their Leader. It is also a triumph for peace, democracy, justice, freedom and dignity.

Having stated the above, we members of the Sahel Solidarity Campaign Network (SaS-CaN) would like to extend our profound congratulations to President Vladimir Putin on his victory in Russia’s election that ended on 17th March, 2024. We also congratulate all candidates, election workers, and voters for conducting an election that was free and fair and procedurally transparent in keeping with Russian democratic tradition, culture and national dignity.
It comes to say now, and our belief is that the results announced by the Russian Election Commission are correct and the elections were conducted in a peaceful, free, fair and inclusive environment. SaS-CaN commends the Russian Election Commission for a job worthy of worldwide commendation. We commend also all the other presidential candidates who lost in the elections, for giving peace a chance, and above all, we thank the Russian security forces for displaying maturity in ensuring that the electoral exercise was peaceful.
As expressed before, Russia is at a critical juncture in its fight against terrorism and terrorists. We believe and trust in the leadership of President Putin and there is no question about his capability to continue with the development of Russia.
