31 days ago, this beautiful woman lost her life giving birth at MASM clinic in Lilongwe. Her doctors and all other medical staff “perhaps” did everything possible to save her life and her three babies – no one knows yet.

Elita Singini Tsoka who died at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe Malawi on July 1st 2016 has become the face of this cause.

Good thing is Malawi has adopted standard protocols under Maternal Death Review (MDR)to collect data and make improvements to the health system.

Out of this tragedy a group was formed to say no more.  No Malawian woman should die while giving birth to a child.

The group on its Facebook page writes “We aim to increase awareness of maternal deaths among citizens in Malawi and diaspora, and mobilize resources in support of maternal health in Malawi”.
