Raila Odinga whose petition to nullify his rival William Ruto’s presidential election victory was thrown out by the Supreme Court, has said he respected the decision but disagreed.
Odinga tweeted and addressed his supporters; We have always stood for the the rule of law and the constitution. In this regard, we respect the opinion of the court although we vehemently disagree with their decision today.

The seven-member court had delivered a unanimous verdict upholding Ruto’s victory earlier in the day.
Chief Justice Martha Koome said the court found no evidence that the results had been tampered via hacking of The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission’s (IEBC) servers, as was alleged by Odinga’s camp.
The decision paves the way for Ruto, 55, to be sworn in as Kenya’s fifth president in the coming days.
“The court returned its verdict and I welcome it with tremendous humility,” Ruto said on Monday, promising to run an inclusive administration.
Raila Odinga, Kenya’s veteran politician was making a 5th stab at the presidency in Kenya’s General Elections. He has always been the anti-establishment candidate but this time, however he enjoyed the support of his one-time rival Uhuru Kenyatta to no avail.
