LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The first Malawian lesbian couple was over the weekend engaged privately in the capital Lilongwe but shared their ceremonies photos to the public.
The couple identified as Glory Connex (Husband) and Miracle (wife) are reportedly to be happy after dating for years now.
“They are proud of themselves as a husband and wife,” claims one of couple’s friend who attended the engagement.
The Maravi Post tried to talk to Glory as confirm the authenticity of said engagement but got a rude response.
“Glad to hear that. First and foremost I don’t like people using their journalism skills on me. Lastly, a message to you and other friends, we are on it and once we find who is the perpetrator for all the rumors, we will see. Inshallah,” charged Glory Connex.
The engagement has attracted mockery and insults on social media particularly face book.
“I think their parents made a mistake having them because iwowa akanakhala akazi okhaokha bwenzi iwowa kulibe (because if their parents were women they could have not be born”, says Nancy Destiny Bilima.
Austin Jack Maele chipped in,”Jesus is coming very soon to reward us all according to our work”.
Malawi laws does not recognise the same sex-marriages.
