LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-The World Peace Restoration of Light (HWPL) has emphasized the need for legislators to embrace peace, unity and security in their constituencies for a better Malawi generation.
The global group therefore wants lawmakers to be custodians of peace and unity when executing their duties.
Addressing Malawi’s Members of Parliament (MPs) on Wednesday, November 22, HWPL Regional Coordinator, Sphesihle Molalose said recognizing the Declaration of Peace and Cessation of a booklet will imminent threats posed by conflicts and wars, prominent legal experts from various countries to produce a legal document that could save the foundation of a safe and peaceful World.
Molalose said the declaration presented in the booklet has a clear and definite purpose which is to cease all wars on Earth.
He said if the binding instrument inspired by the Declaration is prepared and implemented by every country in the world wars will no longer break out.
“We believe that when heads of state around the world show their support of declaration presented in official form will draw the attention of the United Nations to implement the declaration provisions at an international level through the UN Security Council,” said Molalose.
In his remarks, the Chairperson for the parliamentary Caucus on sustainable peace and Development, Abel Kaembe said they have been engaging with HPWL to develop a national developing policy that will promote peace through parliament intervention.
Kayembe observes that there has been a gap amongst MPs that will be helped through the Declaration of Peace and Cessation booklet.
He said members will be at the forefront of advocating peace in all sectors through developmental rallies and another political gatherings.
