Kwera Malawi launches scholarship for tertiary,secondary students

BLANTYRE-(MaraviPost )-Kwera Malawi on Thursday launched a scholarship program for students in public universities and recent secondary school graduates seeking higher education.

Kwera Malawi Chief Operations Officer Chimwemwe Kamwendo made the announcement at the Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources(LUANAR ) during an award ceremony for needy students.

She said to apply for the scholarship, students need to provide a national identity copy and a signed recommendation letter from a Traditional Authority(T/A), religious leader, or university registrar.

Kamwendo said the organization currently supports 1,400 students and aims to add 300 more this year.

On her part, a beneficiary of the scholarship program and student at Mzuzu University(MZUNI),Triza Chima expressed gratitude towards Kwera Malawi for promoting education in the country.

Chima who is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Religious Studies,said the scholarship has enabled her to continue her studies.

The award ceremony recognized outstanding students, including Pemphero Ntanga from LUANAR, Collins Mwenefumbo from MZUNI, Esther Chimbereko, and Leticia Chiuli from Kamuzu College of Health Sciences(KUHeS).

These students achieved distinction in their respective fields.

Kwera Malawi was established in 2017 with the goal of supporting young people in achieving their dreams through higher education, skills development, and employability.

The organization provides financial support to students at local universities and offers a comprehensive program that includes fee support, skills development, internships, and job placement.
