LILONGWE-(MaraviPost)-As every farmer expects to harvest after a long tiresome season, Wolves women volleyball, Lilongwe Spikers and Mponela Eagles are not exceptional as they waited for eight months before receiving their prizes for emerging champions of MK6.2 million Twenty Third Century Systems Central Region Volleyball League in 2021 Season.

However the wait ended on Wednesday, July 6,2022 as Central Region Volleyball League Committee and the Sponsors 23rd Century presented the prizes in a ceremony which took place at Blue Gym at African Bible College campus.
30 teams participated in the 2021 Central Region Volleyball which were categorized into three thus,men’s A and B and ladies.
Wolves Women Volleyball team were the 2021 champions and went home with money amounting to MK550,000, floating trophy and 18 gold medals.
Vixens finished as runners up and received K400,000 and 18 Silver medals while Kamuzu Barracks went away with MK150,000 and 18 Bronze medals for finishing on third position.
In men’s B category, Mponela Eagles received MK400,000 and 18 gold medals for being the champions, Blue Eagles RSV pocketed MK250,000 plus 18 Silver medals for finishing as runners up while Ntchisi Smashers also received MK150,000 for third place finish.
In men’s Senior category, Lilongwe Spikers celebrated Independence day with MK550,000,floating trophy plus 18 gold medals as champions, MK400,000 and 18 Silver medals went to Mipuniro Spikers for being runners up with Kamuzu Barracks Volleyball team receiving MK200,000 and 18 bronze medals for third place finish.
In attendance were Robert White, Volleyball Association of Malawi Vice President, Twenty Third Century Systems representatives Charles Ngoma and Tadala Chawomba, and former minister of youths and Sport Ulemu Msungama.

Speaking after the event, Charles Ngoma said they will sit back as an organization to review the sponsorship and probably look what they can do to give spectacular games.
He added that are happy that finally teams have harvested from what they sow last season.
Chipiliro Kantikana, Lilongwe Spikers Volleyball Coach, was happy that finally they received their prizes after a long wait.
He said being the champions in 2021 was true reflection on how they prepared and fought in the games.
Kantikana went further in thanking the Sponsors for presenting the prizes saying will play great role in meeting some logistics in the 2022 season which has already commenced as they are a self sponsored side.
Wolves Volleyball teams President Robert Nazitwere described the 2021 season as a success though some hiccups in rules and regulations which marred the league but he was hopeful that Central Region Volleyball League Committee will look into that.
He hailed Wolves Women Volleyball team for being champions and his men side for finishing fourth.
General Secretary for Central Region Volleyball League, Sunduzwayo Mashunga, said the league went well in 2021 as they noted teams are improving and many new teams registered.
He however hailed the Sponsors Twenty Third Century for the support.
He then highlighted that they anticipate a stiff competition in 2022 season.
2021 season started on June 3 and completed on October 31, but the prizes were delayed due to some logistical issues.
