LILONGWE (Maravipost): Malawi has demonstrated remarkable national commitment to addressing climate change, disaster risk management, and livelihood programs with a requirement of 67,533,706.01 for National framework for water and climate services (NFWCS) program.
Principal Secretary for Natural Resources and Climate Change Yusuf Mkugula, made the remarks during the launch of the National Framework for Water and Climate Services (NFWCS).
Mkungula said the government of Malawi will lead as the primary source of funding through their Ministry.
He said the initiative reflects the unwavering resolve to prioritize climate and water services.
“It is a shared responsibility I call upon all stakeholders to support us through various multilateral financial agreements,” said Mkungula.
Together we can transform our challenges into opportunities to cultivate resilient systems that cant withstand the trials of climate change to forge a brighter future for the country,” He added.
Mkungula further said the launch of NFWCS thrilled to release the seasonal forecast for 2024 /2025 to empower communities to make informed decisions as we approach the rainfall season.
